Join Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd of Burlingame in our 2022 Vacation Bible School! This year we will use the curriculum: COMPASSION CAMP - BE LOVED - BE KIND - BE YOU Music, Games, Crafts, Dance, and more! Monday August 1 to Friday August 5 - 9:00 am to 1:00 pm Grades K-5 ----- NEW THIS YEAR Grades 6 and above ! Join us for a mini-camp where we will participate in a service learning project to benefit our community. Monday August 1 to Friday August 5 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm ------ Both sessions will be led by Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd of Burlingame's Director of Music and Media Arts, Michael Strelo-Smith. For over 5 years Mr. Strelo-Smith has contributed to the musical life of our little congregation on Burlingame Ave. Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area (Castro Valley) he rose to national fame for finishing in the top 35 of season 2 and the top 25 of season 3 of NBC/Universals hit television program America's Got Talent. With over 20 years experience working with young people as an arts educator he has previously worked for Brewer Island Elementary School, Douglas Morrisson Theatre, Hillbarn Theatre, Alameda Civic Light Opera, and Tri-Valley Rep, among others. In addition to his work at Good Shepherd, Mr. Strelo-Smith maintains a private voice studio from his San Jose, California home. He has over 25 years of experience performing in opera, musical theatre, concerts, recital, etc. and this fall will be seen as the EmCee in the 6the Street Playhouse production of the musical CABARET. He is know to peninsula audiences for his appearances as Archibald Craven in The Secret Garden, Rutledge in 1776; Vice-Principal Panch in 25th Annual...Spelling Bee; Count Carl-Magnus in A Little Night Music for Notre Dame de Namur University the latter two roles garnering him nominations for Best Actor in the San Francisco Broadway.Com awards.
