Shop Helper Position Level 1 Looking for a Shop Helper to assist our team of fabricators, by performing daily duties around the shop. This includes sweeping shop floors and cleaning around work areas in our machine and welding shop. Essential Job Functions Ensures shop cleanliness and maintenance on a regular basis. Processes and tracks parts that have been placed on order. Makes repairs and performs routine and preventative maintenance on building and shop equipment. Performs clean up duties to shop, shop vehicles, rest rooms and office which includes taking out the trash, sweeping, mopping/vacuuming, dusting and cleaning windows. Communicates and responds to off-site requests for assistance. Monitors and reports all safety-related issues as related to the shop area or any location where maintenance is being performed. Other Duties: Performs other duties as assigned. Maybe required to work overtime. Regular and consistent attendance for the assigned work hours is essential. Must be self motivated and able to work without supervision. Must have good communication skills and the ability to multitask. Required Knowledge and Skills: Reads and follows simple to complicated instructions, on a daily basis. Performs calculations and works with numbers to solve problems. Reads and understands reference books and complicated procedures and manuals. Ability to prioritize multiple parts pick-up and deliveries. Pay attention to details and observe safety precautions. Knowledge of safety hazards and precautions. Appropriately records repairs and parts used. Job Skills & Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Ability to lift heavy materials and tools. Clean driving record. Experience: Entry Level. Salary Range: $16.00-$20.00; Depending on experience. Pay Frequency: Weekly. Benefits: Health, sick time and paid vacation. Job Type: Full time.
