Section 2 of the Walking City Trail snakes through some of Boston's most expansive and immersive parks, where rustling woodlands and forgotten ruins of yesteryear await. We'll kick off this guided hike at Adams Park in Roslindale Village and from there, we'll spend the late morning and early afternoon journeying through the following Boston green spaces:
- Arnold Arboretum
- Bussey Brook Meadow
- Southwest Corridor Park
- Franklin Park
- The Parley Vale
- Jamaica Pond
Along the way, we'll stop for food and bathoom breaks, and the hike will conclude at the boat house at Jamaica Pond—a very short walk from Centre Street (serviced by the MBTA's 39 and 41 buses) and a relatively short walk from the Green Street Orange Line station.
Admission to the hike is free, because times are tough and we all need escapes. But if you're able to make a donation, any amount you can manage is appreciated and the proceeds will go toward expanding the Walking City Trail website and trail resources in the months ahead.
This hike is a rain-or-shine event, in the spirit of hiking! Unless we're talking dangerous weather events like extreme heat or a hurricane, in which case the hike will be rescheduled and refunds will be issued to anyone who had already registered for the hike.
