Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses provides business education, support services and pathways to capital for growth-oriented entrepreneurs. With a curriculum designed by Babson College, the nation’s top entrepreneurial school, participants gain practical skills to take their business to the next level. Topics include financial statements, negotiations, and marketing. Participants develop an actionable growth plan for their business with the help of advisors and a network of like-minded entrepreneurs. The program is free and delivered in partnership locally with the Community College of Rhode Island. To date, Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses has served nearly 400 businesses in Rhode Island and 12,000 businesses nationwide. TEN is an exclusive networking where EVERYONE gets to give their pitch to EVERYONE in the room. We begin with networking and refreshments at 5:30, and then start the pitches at 6:00. Each attendee drops a business card in the bucket, and we pull out 5 at a time. Each of those 5 then give their one minute pitch to everyone. We then announce a ten minute break so anyone who wants to connect with one of the 5 that just spoke has the chance to do so - then we gather again, pick another 5 cards, and do it all again. We repeat this until everyone has had an opportunity to speak. A perfect TEN. Because of the format, these events are limited to just 30 attendees, so book your ticket before they're sold out!
