The Western Stock Show Association (WSSA) is in search of a Lead Custodian to join our Event Operations Team! Who We Are Founded in 1906, the Western Stock Show Association aims to invest in future generations by promoting youth and community development through livestock and equestrian education, innovation, entertainment, and competition. We are best known for putting on the annual National Western Stock Show, which has called Denver its home since the 1890s. Outside of the best 16 days in January, our events complex keeps busy year-round by hosting horse & livestock shows, trade shows, wrestling tournaments, concerts, cheerleading competitions, car shows and more. Our Event Operations team plays a critical role in all of our events and keeps our complex functioning at all times. What We Do Members of our Custodial Team work closely with our Event Staff to complete a variety of tasks relating to the events hosted at the National Western Complex. Typical tasks include clearing/emptying trash, sweeping floors, and cleaning bathrooms/event spaces. As the Lead Custodian, you will oversee the Custodial Team and ensure our Complex is kept clean and event-ready at all times. You will work closely with our Event Operations Team Leads and Managers to get ready for upcoming shows and direct staff. The Custodial Lead is responsible for maintaining all custodial supplies and equipment with the support of Operations Management. What You Need To be successful in this role, candidates should have previous experience with leading diverse teams and custodial work. Experience with inventory control and ordering is a plus. As the Custodial Lead will regularly need to operate riding floor sweepers/scrubbers, candidates will need to be comfortable with this equipment and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test. The Lead Custodian must be able to be on their feet for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates should be comfortable with working indoors, outside in all weather conditions, and around animals. As our schedule is based on the events booked in our Complex, scheduling flexibility is a must. Events may require early morning hours, late evening/overnight hours, holiday hours, and will definitely require weekend hours. Candidates should be prepared to work up to 12-hour shifts during events. All job offers on contingent on the successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug test.
