The Western Stock Show Association (WSSA) is in search of a Maintenance Technician to join our Building & Grounds Team! Who We Are Founded in 1906, the Western Stock Show Association aims to invest in future generations by promoting youth and community development through livestock and equestrian education, innovation, entertainment, and competition. We are best known for putting on the annual National Western Stock Show, which has called Denver its home since the 1890s. Outside of the best 16 days in January, our events complex keeps busy year-round by hosting horse & livestock shows, trade shows, wrestling tournaments, concerts, cheerleading competitions, car shows and more. Our Building & Grounds team plays a critical role in keeping our complex functioning and event-ready at all times. What We Do Members of our Building & Grounds team work closely with our Event Staff to complete a variety of tasks relating to the events hosted at the National Western Complex. Assignments will vary on a daily basis, dependent on the needs of upcoming events. This job will keep you busy, and no two days will be the same! As a Maintenance Technician, you will partner with members of the Building & Grounds and Event Operations teams to complete basic repairs and upgrades to the National Western Complex. Typical tasks include painting, completing structural and mechanical repairs, and heavy equipment operation. What You Need To be successful in this role, candidates should have experience with various types of property maintenance, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, structural, and cosmetic repairs. As the Maintenance Technician will regularly have to operate equipment (forklifts, skid-steers, golf carts, etc.), candidates will need to be familiar with this equipment and be able to pass a pre-employment drug test. The Building & Grounds Maintenance Technician must be able to be on their feet for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds. Candidates should be comfortable with working indoors, outside in all weather conditions, and around animals. As our schedule is based on the events booked in our Complex, scheduling flexibility is a must. Events may require early morning hours, late evening/overnight hours, holiday hours, and will definitely require weekend hours. Candidates should be prepared to work up to 12-hour shifts during events. All job offers on contingent on the successful completion of a criminal background check and pre-employment drug test.
