We have an immediate fulltime need for a Subcontract Window Coverings Installer in the Austin area. This job will require multiple work stops daily, primarily, but not limited to, the South, Southeast, Southwest, East & West Austin Metro areas, including Austin, San Marcos, Kyle, Buda, Manchaca, Niederwald, Uhland, Maxwell, Lockhart, Dripping Springs, Driftwood, Bee Cave, Lakeway, Spicewood, Marble Falls, Del Valle, Manor, Elgin, & Bastrop. We are a steadily growing supplier of Cordless 2-Inch Faux Wood Blinds to the single & multifamily home builder trade in Texas. In addition to our faux wood blinds, we also provide a full range of custom window covering products to residential & commercial builders & to builder referred residential clients. These custom products include wood shutters, vertical blinds, sliding panels, roller shades, cellular shades, pleated shades, roman shades, sheer shades, layered shades, natural shades & exterior patio solar shades. We also provide our clients both wired & wireless motorized window coverings. Compensation is Per Window Measured, Per Window Covering Installed (pay varies per type), Per Cut-Outs & Cuts in the field (when necessary) with Trip Fees paid for Repairs via an Independent Subcontractor Agreement with Average Daily Gross Earnings ranging between $250.00 - $500.00 though our busiest days offer the potential to earn more. Pay is received weekly by paper check based on the submission of a weekly installer draw sheet which we ask that our subcontract installers keep up with daily. Experience with installing blinds, shades & shutters is strongly preferred, but not necessary. Experience working in any interior finish trade as an independent subcontractor or as a subcontractor’s helper in residential new construction is strongly preferred, but not necessary. Installer must have reliable work transportation in the form of a truck (camper shell recommended), SUV, or van. Some days will require the ability to safely transport 100+ blinds to job locations. Installer must provide drill(s), drill accessories, miter saw for straight & 90-degree cuts on a job site of our faux wood blinds & valances (when necessary), basic tools (i.e., flat blade screwdriver, metal cutters, needle nose pliers, plastic cutting scissors) & a stepladder to routinely install brackets at heights between 7 - 10 feet above the floor. We can provide ladder & ladder base assistance for known working heights above 10 feet such as windows above stairs & upper transom windows. Installer will need a laptop or desktop computer, scanner/printer, smartphone, & personal work email address to communicate with our office. An IRS approved mileage tracking app for logging daily work-related miles is recommended. Installer must have a valid Texas driver’s license, a Social Security Number, or a Federal Tax ID & the ability to pass a criminal background check for the prior 7-years to meet the requirements of our independent subcontractor agreement. Our Subcontract Installers have the option to provide their own commercial general liability & business automobile insurance (meeting our required minimums) or be covered by our policy at a rate of 3% of gross earnings deducted from weekly paychecks.
