Yes, weapons have changed dramatically since the 1700s. Maybe that's why the original framers of the Constitution left the wording vague enough to allow for technological advances. They said keep and bear arms. Not keep and bear muskets, knives, or swords. The number of people owning has of course skyrocketed. The population has skyrocketed. Are you implying that a greater proportion of the population owns guns today than those living in the untamed 1700s? I'm also not concerned at all that you're alarmed that people are exercising their rights. You might notice that every time someone on the left pushes for more gun control, gun sales skyrocket. You also said, "too many kids are getting killed by semi-automatic weapons and the people don't like it." You're only upset about kids (a very small number statistically). I guess that you're not as upset with the number of blacks killed in Chicago or the number of adults killed in NYC, Washington or Boston. You singled out 'semi-automatics', but it's nearly impossible to find a gun sold today that is not semi-automatic *hence the reason to keep the language vague to adapt to technology). People Power is what rules nations (I heard that somewhere). And the 2nd Amendment was written, in part, to keep that power with the people and allow them to protect themselves against the government. You also falsely claimed that no democrat said that the government was going to take your guns. I'm surprised that you've already forgotten Beto O'Rourke, whose political action committee was called "Powered by the People." (What an interesting coincidence). He's actually quoted as saying "Hell yes we're going to take your AR-15s and AK-47s." Gun owners do not rule the USA. The people do. The gun owners help make sure that the people maintain that rule (as outlined in the Constitution). If the bulk of society feels the same way that you do; and politicians are all in favor of gun control and fear getting re-elected... then there should be no problem with your side getting the US Constitution changed. But you haven't been able to do that. In fact, all of the politicians that are currently worried about their re-elections are on the left. If thier views are so popular, why are they worried?
