Biden selling our oil reserves that are supposed to be for OUR country in emergency situations, makes me sick. Along with shutting down much of our oil production. As a Dem, soooooo glad I didn't vote for him. He is ruining this country. The Sierra Club, and other greenies are out of their minds. (santa clara) (fairfax) (santa clara) Now I have to clear up your disinformation - There isn't a single reason to sell our strategic oil reserves to any other nation particularly China because they are buying as much as the need from Russia and the Middle East. It's a fact that Europe and the US not buying Russian oil & gas has done nothing but make Russia more money so that policy is not only a waste of time but hasn't hurt Russia in the least as India & China are buying what we and Europe refuse to. Currently our refineries are at 95% capacity, that last 5% would put a strain on their ability to continue at their current rate without shutdowns for needed maintenance. Biden has made two releases from the strategic reserve, by October it will be at 1/3 its capacity which is dangerously low compared to 90% capacity when he took office. So if what you say is true which it isn't the last release of strategic reserve was a publicity stunt as well as a terrible idea to sell any of it to other countries especially China that's buying as much as they want from Russia and if you still can't understand that then you have a big analytical problem. Yea we sent oil to China. Here's a couple things to help clear up any confusion: We sold them the oil so they wouldn't buy it from Russia. Yes we have an oil reserve. And yes Joe did release some a couple of months ago to help ease the price of oil which in turn would lower the gas prices. However the oil companies then explained that the price of oil isn't what's causing the high prices. It's because they shut down the majority of their refineries and it would take months to restart them and their need to satisfy investors and maximize profit (yes they did say this). So any additional "release" from the strategic oil reserves would literally do nothing to the price of gas. So please do some research before you type.
