Summary of Position: The Maintenance Technician assists with unit turnover, repairs, renovations, projects, and on-call emergencies. Our ideal candidate will be a jack-of-all-trades with in-depth knowledge of maintenance procedures, make-readys, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, troubleshooting, and basic tools. To excel in this position, you must be an outstanding problem-solver with exceptional communication and organizational skills. Job Qualifications: A certificate in HVAC, EPA, CPO, or relevant field is preferred. 1+ year experience as an HVAC technician and willingness to continue education in HVAC field. Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in writing, oral, diagrammatic, or schedule form Effective problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Works well under pressure and meets tight deadlines Job Requirements: Minimum of one year in a related maintenance position High school diploma or equivalent qualification. EPA Type I, Type II, or Universal preferred. Must report to work on time with a neat and professional appearance or, if provided by the company, a uniform with safety accessories. Must have the flexibility to work weekends and after-hours as necessary. Must be courteous and pleasant to residents and co-workers at all times. Must have reliable transportation with a valid state-issued driver's license and current liability vehicle insurance. Must be able to successfully clear a background check, drug screen, and an MVR. Physical Demands: The ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull 25 to 50 lbs. correctly and safely. Physically able to climbs numerous flights of stairs daily. Stooping: Frequently bending body downward and forward by bending the spine at the waist, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles. Kneeling: Frequently bending legs at knees to come to rest on the knee or knees. Crouching: Frequently bending body downward and forward by bending legs and spine. Reaching: Frequently extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Handling: Frequently seizing, holding, grasping, turning, or otherwise working with hands.
