Relocated to New York this winter after nearly a decade in Baltimore and getting antsy to play music again. My preference is to find an existing band that needs someone to jump in but I'm not opposed to starting something new with the right people. I like playing guitar over bass but am comfortable with either one, and can also do backing vox. Musically, I am more of a melodic or textural guitarist than a shredder. Influences cover a range from arty to pop-ish; favorite bands include Failure, Pedro the Lion, Radiohead, Bowie, St. Vincent, Depeche Mode, Jawbox, etc. I'm in my early forties with a spouse, kid and day job, so my expectations are not to make this a career or go out on tour. However, I am all in favor of a practice routine and semi-regular local shows. In general, I try to be pretty low-maintenance. Willing to travel to Brooklyn or Queens if that's where the cool kids are.
