The first Re is right. This first batch of electric vehicles IS indeed just a drop in the bucket. But it is just the first of many drops in the bucket. Our state and federal government will be buying electric vehicles in huge quantities moving forward. The city of San Francisco just ordered a fleet of electric motorcycles for their police. Most counties and state vehicles these days are hybrid.
By 2030, gasoline powered vehicles will no longer be on the dealership lots. Just as diesel powered trains replaced coal powered steam engines, non gasoline powered vehicles are antiquated. Just as a smart phone replaced the cell phone, alternative fuel vehicles are the smart future for more reasons than saving the environment.
