Description

Many families have a quilt that stretches back generations, lovingly stitched by hand, and full of warm memories. On Saturday, August 13, the Ellwood House Museum and DeKalb History Center will partner to present “Common Threads,” a free youth program exploring historic quilts and the techniques used to create them. Together, participants will help create a community quilt, which will be placed on display inside the museum’s “Little House.” “Common Threads” is the third of five monthly programs as part of Ellwood Explorers, the Ellwood House Museum’s youth educational series. Programs are free of charge and run from 10am until noon. Ellwood Explorers is generously supported by the Cy Miller Foundation. The museum is located at 420 Linden Place in DeKalb. On-site parking and restrooms available.
