Design and Build your own animal sculpture to sit upon! …in one, five day camp session Our session consists of exploring the process of sculpture starting with engineering a structure, then developing the thematic form and finally surfacing our creations. Working collaboratively, we will work to create a product defined by our goal. We guide participants with possibilities and tool techniques but ultimately the artists, have to make the creative decisions that lead down the path of transforming an idea into reality.The artists are ‘magicians’...they create an ‘illusion’ for all to enjoy...one step at a time. “I believe that art is 99% problem solving and 1% that ‘bright-light inspiration’ that inspires us to create. Much like a flow chart, our mind forms a question/problem and sets about to solve that question or problem. Sometimes we are not even conscious of this decision making process until we confront a problem that we are not sure how to handle. These decisions each lead us to make the idea come to life for others to view.....This is magic to me. Everything is broken down into easy to work components. This is one of many ways to approach the creative process.” ‘The Process of Sculpture’ is a challenging art form that develops problem solving, inquiry, decision making, use of basic tools and techniques, engineering, math skills, observation of nature, design collaboration, evaluation of product.
