Seeking an energetic and friendly individual to work with at a long term care facility with our elderly residents to help keep them engaged and active! This position is great for students or those with flexible schedules who are looking to give back to their community and make some extra money! Monday - Friday 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm (3hrs/day) part-time. Essential Duties AND Responsibilites include the following. Other duties may be assigned. *Assists in planning, developing, organizing and implementing activity programs for elders in our community such as movies, parties and games *Assists in developing, administering, and coordinating department policies and procedures *Plans, implements and documents meaningful 1:1 visits with elders based on individual needs to reduce social isolation *Communicates available programs to elders and encourages participation *Compiles and maintains an activity schedule, list of available projects, crafts, resources, etc. *Coordinates activities efforts with other departments as necessary *Assists as needed in the Wellness Center swimming pool to enhance elder leisure experience *Orders supplies (e.g., arts-and-crafts supplies, party supplies) and keeps costs reasonable *Maintains activity areas in a neat, clean manner; picks up supplies after each activity and returns furniture to its original position *Provides instructions and supplies to employees, elders and volunteers to assist with activities *Takes pictures of community events, parties and other special occasions *Makes arrangements for local groups and guest speakers to entertain *Organizes outings into the local community to locations of interest to elders and ensures that sufficient staff and volunteers participate in the outings. Makes arrangements for the provision of needed services during the time of the outing. Assists on outings as needed *Plans theme days/months around holidays, seasons, and recognized days (e.g., Father’s/Mother’s Day Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
