Therapy Dog Visits in High Schools

Do you love dogs and enjoy teens? The Human-Animal Connection is seeking volunteers to assist with our high school program Canines Teach Compassion. We bring trained and certified therapy dogs to visit with students in a library to decrease stress, increase resilience, learn compassion for themselves and others, reduce isolation and bring joy and furry cuddles. Looking for an assistant for one-hour classes on Thursday during the school day. The program begins in September and runs through April. We offer free therapy dog training in exchange for volunteering. Must be calm, non-judgmental, enjoy teens and dogs and have excellent gentle communication skills.
