San Marcos, TX Texas State University Custodian Job Number: 2022599 Location: San Marcos Department: Dept of Housing and Residential Life Recruitment Type: Open to All Job Type: Full Time Monthly Salary: $2,065-$2,165 Job Category: Non-Exempt Required Qualifications: Ability to operate cleaning equipment and tools Ability to read, write, understand and communicate in English Preferred Qualifications: Experience providing custodial services Experience providing custodial services in an educational environment Knowledge of professional cleaning methods and techniques, including measuring and mixing cleaning chemicals Basic computer skills Job Description: Work as part of a team that performs a wide variety of cleaning duties within an assigned area for the Department of Housing and Residential Life. Ensures assigned areas are maintained in a sanitary and safe condition. Requests necessary supplies to perform job duties. Be available to occasionally work weekends, holidays and earlier/later than scheduled shift to meet department and university needs. Be able to perform all physical aspects of assigned duties, including stooping, reaching, climbing and lifting up to 30 pounds unassisted and 50 pounds assisted. Participates as a member of the Housing and Residential Life - Housing Facilities Services Custodial team in providing noteworthy customer service to students, staff and guests.
