Handyman, General Maintenance & Repairs for Truck Yard Truck Yard keeps things shaking…and sometimes shaking things loose. Do you know how to fix thingamabobs, doodads and whatchamacallits? We’re looking for a Handyman / Handyperson / Handyhumanoid to get our restaurants in tip top shape! As the Handyman, you’ll be hired to perform upkeep, general repair and maintenance for our locations across the DFW area. This position is an hourly position, up to $25/hour depending on experience. 20-30 hours per week. Primary Responsibilities • Perform minor maintenance replacement and repairs in areas of carpentry, minor electrical work, minor plumbing, mechanical, painting, flooring, and other building repairs through scheduled work orders o Examples of Repairs: Grout, Tile Floors, Walls, Rotted Wood, Ceilings, Decks, Doors, Drywall, Siding, Gutters o Examples of Maintenance: Sinks, Drains, Caulking, Doors, Decks, Fences, Gutter Cleaning, Locksets & Deadbolts, Windows, Screens, Furniture, Fixtures o Carpentry: Cabinets, Countertops, Molding, Trim, Shelving, Ramps, Railings o Other: Pressure Washing, Weatherproofing, Tile Work, Assembly, Painting, Minor Plumbing and other duties as assigned. • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing work • Maintain positive working relationship with location staff • Inspect areas that need repairs and advise manager • Complete work orders as scheduled • Maintain assigned equipment in good working condition • Properly perform casual labor, such as lifting/moving heavy items as directed by management and following appropriate safety procedures. • Follows safety procedures and maintains a safe work environment. Minimum Qualifications • Minimum of 2 years experience as a handyman/maintenance professional • Capable of following instructions and completing assigned tasks on time • Ability to communicate clearly with management • Strong problem-solving skills • Organized and self-disciplined to complete work with maximum efficiency • Must have reliable transportation • Must be eligible to work in the United States Preferred Qualifications • Prior experience in restaurant construction • Plumbing or Electric certification Other things to know about this job • Must provide own tools • Rubber soled closed toed shoes required • Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 60 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion. Position requires working a full shift on your feet. • Position requires working indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions • Position may require work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operation of phones, computers and other office equipment.
