It's greed greed and more greed combined with our government becoming more and more and more corrupt ( Now considered the most Corrupt of all industrialized nations). Just like the way our politicians helped US businesses to outsource tens of millions of US jobs in exchange for financial favors, they helped the corporations to buy up much of the real estate so they could resell at double and triple the price. And they stopped building houses and mainly only build condos now because they can can fit six to eight units in the same size lot. Basically the US is becoming China and China is becoming like the US. Only a revolution is going to change things at this point. Create a government that works for the people instead of only for the corporations and the filthy rich.
