Insurance isn't as sexy as tech, legal, or product innovation. But most people don't know that the insurance sector is comprised of many professionals from different backgrounds education-wise and is a great destination for people of color for career stability and growth. The insurance industry is overwhelmingly made of older, white males. As the industry begins to shift and incorporate more DE&I efforts, some insurance professionals wonder if they too can arrive to work being their true authentic selves. In March 2022, the Massachusetts Senate followed the lead of the House to unanimously pass the CROWN Act. The CROWN Act bans discrimination based on protective and natural hairstyles.
