The steamer Virginia V is a symbol of the maritime history of Puget Sound. Her history is intertwined with that of Vashon Island. In this talk, we will explore not just the ship's history, but also the impact that the Virginia boats made on the West Pass communities on Vashon and the peninsula.
About the speaker: Edward Brown (they/them) grew up with a passion for Washington State History, and has been the Head Docent for The Steamer Virginia V Foundation since 2013. They specialize in the maritime history of Puget Sound in their work with the Virginia V to help educate all visitors to the ship. Ed holds a degree from Cornish College of the Arts.
