This hands-on, scratch made pizza class focuses on two types of Italian-style pies. Join food writer and Chef Instructor Shawnie Kelley as she guides you through the process of making a fool-proof homemade pizza dough that will be used in your customized individual Neapolitan-style pizzas. Toppings will allow you to explore unique flavor combinations or put together a classic margarita ‘za. You will also learn how to properly use a pizza stone (or steel) and pizza peel for a perfectly cooked pie. The second pizza uses more of a focaccia style dough in an easy Sicilian sheet pan pizza that will become a family favorite. We will discuss the regional differences of dough types. Our discussion will also cover yeast, flour types, storage, and freezing of dough. You will leave armed with the skills necessary to make the perfect pizza pie. And of course, a pizza class would not be complete without a glass of vino while you eat.
