Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing at time of hire. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification Experienced RN: Requires graduation from a state-accredited school of professional nursing and one year of nursing experience. Must be licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of North Carolina by the NC Board of Nursing at time of hire. If hired after January 6, 2014, must be enrolled in an accredited program within four years of employment, and obtain a Bachelor's degree with a major in Nursing or a Master's degree with a major in Nursing within seven years of employment date. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification Nursing Assistant I: High school diploma or GED Listed as a Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider certification Six (6) months of relevant nursing assistant experience, which may include a nursing assistant course Fluent in verbal and written English language and able to develop basic computer skills Nursing Assistant II: High school diploma or GED Listed as a Nursing Assistant II with the North Carolina Board of Nursing Listed as a Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Basic Life Support (BLS) for health care provider certification Six (6) months of relevant nursing assistant experience, which may include a nursing assistant course Fluent in verbal and written English language and able to develop basic computer skills Clinical Support Tech I: High School diploma or GED Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification One (1) year of clerical or customer service experience and six (6) months of related nursing assistant experience, which may include a nursing assistant course or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience Must be fluent in verbal and written English language. Capability to develop computer skills if not competent Clinical Support Tech II: High School diploma or GED Listed as Nursing Assistant II with the North Carolina Board of Nursing Listed as Nursing Assistant I with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification One (1) year of clerical or customer service experience and six (6) months of related nursing assistant experience, which may include a nursing assistant course or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience Must be fluent in verbal and written English language. Capability to develop computer skills if not competent Central Sterile Tech: High School diploma or GED If position is located at UNC Medical Center or Rex Hospital, nine months' experience as a sterile tech is required. If graduation from a sterile processing school, no experience is required. Anesthesia Tech Graduation from an accredited Anesthesia Technician program (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience). Basic Life Support certification required. If graduation from an accredited Anesthesia Technician program: No prior experience required. If a High School diploma or GED: Two (2) years of operating room experience in calibration, maintenance, and repair of anesthesia equipment or similar equipment, or related experience in a hospital/healthcare setting. To be considered as a Trainee: One (1) year of operating room experience involving direct patient care and/or equipment maintenance and calibration. Surgical Tech Requires High School Diploma. Graduation from a Surgical Technology program. BLS required. Surgical Technologist I-A: Entry level position for new graduates of Surgical Technology program or Surgical Technologists with less than twelve (12) months of outside experience. Surgical Technologist I-B: Requires twelve (12) months of full-time equivalent Surgical Technology experience.
