Description
We hope you will join us for the 2nd annual "Detect, Discuss & Defeat Breast Cancer" event at Leatherman Lane on September 17th!! This event is free to attend, and all are welcome so bring your fun money to shop, eat & drink with some of our food trucks and vendors throughout the day! Come early for coffee and FREE yoga to start the day off (just bring your yoga mat)! We will have multiple bands performing for you on stage for you throughout the day, so come ready to dance, enjoy & rock out with us too! If you have a horse, you can register to participate in our “Ride Jen Ride” trail ride, benefitting the Go Jen Go foundation of Charlotte. If not, you will certainly enjoy watching them go by, and maybe even grab a picture with one! GoJenGo is a local nonprofit, providing hope and critical support to families in the greater Charlotte area who are facing the financial burden of a breast cancer diagnosis. They help cover household expenses including housing, utilities, transportation, and other necessities while a patient undergoes breast cancer treatment and have been vital to those in our community battling this disease. In addition to our trail ride, we will have raffles, awesome giveaways, and a 50/50 pot to help raise money for this awesome organization, that we are honored to partner with for this event! HerScan mobile Breast Ultrasound Screening will be at the event again this year. The power of an ultrasound can increase the detection of breast cancer from approximately 48% to 97%, particularly in women with dense breasts. Ultrasound screenings are capable of detecting cancers that cannot be found by mammography and physical exams alone and are often the next step after an irregular mammogram. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in women in the United States, next to skin cancer. It is about 30% (or 1 in 3) of all new female cancers each year and can affect men as well. Please go to the HerScan.org website for more information about the scans and to book yours with them directly. So mark your calendars now, tell your friends, invite your neighbors, and plan to spend the day with us to make a difference in the community and enjoy the day on the farm! Link to Facebook Event
