Peabody's McCarthy Signs To Play Lacrosse At Syracuse University

PEABODY, MA — Peabody student Kyle McCarthy, who attends the Pingree School, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for one of the most powerful lacrosse programs in the country. Pingree accepted an offer to play for Syracuse University starting next fall on Nov. 11. "We are incredible proud of this group of talented and dedicated student-athletes," Pingree athletic director Betsy Kennedy said of all the NLI signees. "With the uncertainty this year, we're grateful for their continued enthusiasm, passion and hard work. Playing college athletics is an impressive next step I their athletic career, and we look forward to cheering them on in their future endeavors." Kathryn DiGiulio, of Peabody, has been named to the Plymouth State University President's List for the Fall 2020 semester. To be named to the President's List, a student must achieve a grade-point average of 3.7 or better for the Fall 2020 semester and must have attempted at least 12 credit hours during the semester. DiGiulio is a nursing major at Plymouth State. Skyla Barooshian, of Peabody, was named to the Plymouth State University Dean's List for the Fall 2020 semester. To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve a grade point average between 3.5 and 3.69 during the Fall 2020 semester and must have attempted at least 12 credit hours during the semester. Barooshian is a social work major at Plymouth State. Jacob Casallas, of Peabody, was named to the Elmira College Dean's List for the Fall 2020 Term. Full-time undergraduate students registered for at least 12 computable credit hours and earning a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher at the end of Term I or Term II are placed on the Dean's List at the College. Founded in 1855, Elmira College is a private, residential, liberal arts college offering 30-plus majors, an honors program, 17 academic honor societies, and 20 Division III varsity teams. Located in the Southern Finger Lakes Region of New York, Elmira's undergraduate and graduate student population hails from more than 20 states and nine countries.
