As a Construction Technician, you will: * Perform routine parking lot, streets, sidewalks, and other related pavement maintenance such as asphalt repair, crack sealing, pothole repair, concrete repair and replacement, and grading and adding rock. * Assist with landscape construction and maintenance such as soil work and renovation, landscape grades and improvements, and installation, repair, and upkeep of building and parking signage. * Haul and supply area crews with necessary products and equipment. * Assist with designing, building, maintaining, repairing, and removing outdoor landscape structures such as arbors, gazebos, benches, trash receptacles, and label markers for plants. * Safely use and maintain equipment and machinery. * Support waste and recycling functions and operate a refuse/recycling rear-loading packer truck. * Participate in snow removal and ice prevention. What you bring to the position (minimum qualifications): * 2+ years experience in commercial landscape and/or construction experience (equivalent education/experience considered), with a minimum of 8th-grade education. * Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. * Valid driver’s license and able to meet University driver eligibility requirements. * Possess a CDL or ability to obtain CDL within 90 days of employment start date. Additional qualifications that are beneficial (preferred, but not required): * Experience using heavy equipment. * Experience with concrete and/or asphalt maintenance and * Experience with landscape grading experience. * CDL Class B with airbrake endorsement.
