Description

Young axolotls available until July 18th Leucistic (pink to white) and wild type (green with black spots) axolotls looking for new homes. Rehoming fee: $20 These are 4 to 6 inches long, and too young to tell males and females apart. They will reach adult size between November and January (mom is 8 inches, dad is 10 inches). Feeding on thawed blood worms, thawed salad shrimp, live earth worms, and sinking fish pellets. They will eat out of your hands, and are generally bold and goofy. You'll need a 20-gallon aquarium for one or 30-gallons for two. Sponge filters work best with these amphibians as they don't like moving water. Keep in mind the cost of their aquarium and equipment can be much more expensive than the actual animal - but that they are also happy in a plastic tot bin from the dollar store. Axolotls live to be between 10 and 15 years old, and are easy to care for after the aquarium is first established.
