Description
My mother who has Alzheimers took in a puppy from a neighbor who didn't want him. I live overseas and was unable to return for some time due to the pandemic. I'm back trying to help her get things in order and it's clear that her condition is such that she is unable to take care of Sammy properly.
He is now a year old. He is very large and has all the usual playfulness and energy for his age but is also very sweet and desperately wants to hang out with you. He is fine around other dogs and a toddler though I would not recommend him for a family with small children because he is rambunctious and does not know his own size. He is also extremely food motivated! He is not aggressive/angry with food but due to his size is hard to stop if he sees food on the counter or in your hand. This food motivation could really work to your advantage in training him.
He is potty trained and does not go in the house but is otherwise completely untrained but very smart and eager to learn. He learned to sit in a day.
He’ll make an amazing friend and companion for someone who is active and ready to put in the effort to train him. If interested in meeting Sammy please message for adoption questionnaire.
