Description
MARLBOROUGH, MA — A state Department of Fire Services (DFS) hazmat team responded to a Marlborough business Wednesday afternoon after a possible gas release.
The team went to the Rinchem Company facility at 111 Hayes Memorial Drive at around noon. A gas alarm facility was triggered, and the hazmat team was trying to find out what tripped it, DFS spokesperson Jennifer Mieth said.
By around 5 p.m., the team had identified leaking gas canisters and moved them outside the building.
There were no injuries reported, Mieth said, and no threat to the public.
Rinchem operates storage facilities across the globe for "high purity, pre-packaged chemicals and gases," according to the company's website.
