Description

As a valued member of our team, you will work at the Skagit Readymix plant where we produce ready mix concrete. Under general supervision, you will perform a variety of yard related duties, including cleaning and preventative maintenance activities to help keep production equipment and the yard in good working condition. Compensation $18.00-$22.00/Hour DOE Responsibilities • Responsible for the day-to-day clean-up and maintenance which includes manual labor, heavy lifting, shoveling, lubrication of plant components and minor plant adjustments. • Operates hydraulic lifting equipment, i.e., forklifts, front loaders, tow motors, etc. • Operates front loader for loading or moving aggregates or concrete residues • Checks and cleans water-recycling system daily • Informs immediate Supervisor of material usage throughout the day • Conducts minor facility maintenance and minor repairs as required • Follows all safety rules, including the use of personal protective equipment applicable to the performance of his/her job duties • Reports safety hazards and incidents to immediate supervisor • Safely operate hand and power tools, pumps, and electrical equipment Requirements/Qualifications • Related experience preferred but not mandatory • Valid driver’s license with clean record • Ability to use various electric and air-powered hand, welding, and cutting tools as appropriate • Mechanical ability to assist with plant maintenance and minor repairs • Ability to be self-directed, with minimal supervision • Must be available to work on Saturdays and to work overtime as required Physical Demands and Work Environment • Ability to lift or carry items weighing up to 50 lbs. when needed • Climb up and down ladders, stairs and equipment throughout the course of a shift • Stoop, reach, squat, bend, kneel, push and pull • Walk on all types of surfaces (uneven and /or slippery ground) • Ability to hear and see safety indicators and warnings and will have exposure to all levels of noise requiring hearing protection. Employee must wear required personal protective equipment; up to and including safety vest, hard hat, ear protection, gloves and safety glasses.
