Description
This is an adoption post. We are located in Seattle, WA. A $300 rehoming fee will be required. The person who adopts this dog MUST have experience with corrective training methods and that person MUST have handled large breed dogs.
I've owned, handled, rescued, and trained several large breed dogs. I don't have the patience nor time to deal my young Akita, Sana, anymore. Her needs are greater than I can provide right now.
I work a lot away from home in various places throughout Seattle. I've tried taking Sana with me all the time, but she vomits in my truck almost every time. When I've left her at home she's destroyed shoes and hats. She peed inside a box that contained a new piece of furniture while I was outside for 10 minutes. We go to the dog park regularly. I take her for two walks every day. I've tried putting her in a crate but she comes out of it with crazed anxious energy. She pulls like an ox while on leash.
Sana is 10 months old and she weighs about 75lbs. Her mom is a Japanese Akita that weighs about 90lbs and her dad is a American Akita that weighs about 125lbs. She's aggressive towards most other dogs, she has strong prey drive for smaller animals, she's very wary of strangers, and I do not trust her around children.
Notwithstanding all of the aforementioned issues, Sana is intelligent, affectionate, and playful with me and my close friends. She's become friendly and playful with a friend's dog who she sees regularly. Sana will be trainable by the right person with enough patience and time. I will only consider giving her up to someone who has experience training troubled large breed dogs. Sana is not spayed, she is up to date on vaccinations, she's microchipped, and she has no known health problems.
