Description
Hi! If you're reading this... I'm sitting on a variety of half-baked material and want to bring in fresh perspective. Performing is the ultimate end, but the means can exist in any shape or form really. My main priority right now is finding similar people to enjoy music with. I've played bass mostly, but also guitar, drums, and basic keys. Whatever your skill set, I'm open. I prefer someone with a good ear and somewhat developed musical instinct. I value creativity and exploration over training (I'm far from formally trained).
My songs are mostly instrumental (guitar, bass, keys played by me and drums programmed via ableton). I dabble with vocals, but my voice kinda sucks so that's limited. I'm totally for vocals, though, if that's what you do. The style is rhythm driven and moderate tempo. Not sure what genre I'd label it, but inspiration that I think comes out in my stuff is Zero 7, Beck, Gorillaz.
I've also been sampling vinyl and beat-making recently. About 40 beats that I've whipped up in the past few months that pulls mostly from jazz records. The overall feel is akin to boom bap I'd say. Inspiration in this vein are Pete Rock, Madlib, Fat Jon. So if you're a tasteful producer... Or if you're a rapper who likes boom bap...
Like I said, open to suggestions here. I'm 30 yo and 420 friendly. Let's see what else, I have a dog and like the woods. Anyways, send me an email if you want to chat and I could send you samples.
