2 Local Groups Receive Gratitude Grants From Patchogue Elks

PATCHOGUE, NY — Two local organizations received over $1,200 from the Patchogue Elks as part of the Elks National Gratitude Grant to allow them to continue to help the community. The two $1,250 grants are used to support local, charitable activities such as hosting a community clean-up day, purchasing supplies for a homeless shelter, or organizing a school literacy fair. The first to receive the grant was Excel Disabled Equestrians, a Farmingville-based therapeutic program that uses horses as therapy for children in need of support from challenges both physically and emotionally. Photo courtesy of Dan Brooks The second went to Angels of Long Island, based in East Patchogue which provides support and resources to those in need through their thrift store, donation center, and community outreach center. The Elk's Inner Guard Neal Keating and Lodge Exalted Ruler Dan Brooks presented the grants to Brittany Loesch, President of Angels of Long Island, and Kathleen Kotler from Excel Disabled Equestrians.
