I run a small seasonal service business in Ojai. Seeking self-directing hard workers to work outdoors around Ojai. I usually do all the labor myself, but I am no longer able to do so as I have other responsibilities to attend to. Most of the work is in April/May, before the June 1st brush clearance deadline, but I still get a few calls year-round. Seeking someone with a flexible schedule who can work on relatively short notice, at least a few days a week. Once you are efficient and capable of doing quality work, (it takes a few days of working with the equipment to get in the groove), I hope to pay about 35.00/hr. For those first few days, or until you feel you are up to speed, I will only pay 20.00/hr to train. After training, we can discuss whether an hourly rate or a percentage split of jobs is the better way to work together. (I want to motivate you to work quickly but with a focus on quality) I will work with you to help you learn how to become extremely efficient with a weedeater. I want to be clear: This is really hard work. You are throwing a stick with a vibrating gasoline engine on one end and a spinning cord on the other back and forth on steep terrain in the burning sun for hours and have to move quickly to be efficient. You have to be in pretty good shape to be efficient, and you'll need some great boots. I will expect you to purchase most of your own personal protective equipment and a good pair of boots, weedeater will be provided along with other necessities. There is a risk of serious injury, snakes, and after every work day you will need a shower and to spend some time picking cattails out of your clothing. It is satisfying work, and I want to pay you well for your hard work. Eventually, I am searching for someone to take over the labor end of the business, hire some friends, and I will just do some marketing and quoting and take a lead generation fee something like 10 percent of each job. www.theojaibrushguy.com
