Description

This position is responsible for trouble shooting, repair, installation, and preventative maintenance of electrical, plumbing, and carpentry projects. The incumbent will work alone to accomplish said work, or where prudent, schedule and supervise the work of an outside contractor in performing construction and repair projects. • Will repair and maintain plumbing systems for restrooms in various company owned buildings and assure they are in good working order and appropriately sanitary conditions. • Will perform basic carpentry work maintaining door casing, frames, and hardware, other wood trim projects, and basic floor repair at company owned buildings. • Will build basic shelves, cabinets, and other wood projects for company owned buildings. • Performs basic 110V electrical maintenance and repair of switches, lights, and wall receptacles, and adds additional units where necessary, in all company owned buildings, and where licensure is not required. • In seasonal times, assist in scheduling or providing snow removal at remote company owned sites as necessary, to assure safe customer access. • Schedules sub contract labor for more complex company projects in electrical, plumbing, or carpentry repair and construction. • Works from a job or work order system to schedule and complete repair and construction project. • Orders and picks up materials needed for repair or construction projects, and authorizes delivery of same when order is significantly large. • Compare sub contract costs with internal ability and costs in deciding who should perform needed repair and construction, and advises management accordingly. • Uses a variety of hand and power tools in the plumbing, electrical, and carpentry trades.
