Press release from NYC Department of Small Business Services: December 29, 2020 This program was piloted in November and December, and built upon the success of the Open Restaurants program. This program allows storefront businesses to use a portion of the sidewalk to conduct business, including: Displaying merchandiseCompleting transactionsProviding areas for customers to line up Businesses may also use the curbside lane to conduct business activities during the hours that Open Streets: Restaurants is in effect. This program is available to all ground-floor storefront businesses after the completion of a short online form acknowledging their understanding of the program's criteria and restrictions.
