I have started a local nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization in North Carolina. The name of the organization is "Musical Instruments for Children, Inc.". I am collecting used and new musical instruments from people in the community and then giving the musical instruments to school systems and other organizations. These organizations will then give them away to children whose parents cannot afford to buy them one. These children would like to play in a band or orchestra such as at their school. Also, if I find a child who qualifies as low income and who would like to play in a band or orchestra such as at their school, I will give this child an instrument. I am also looking for money donations with which to repair the musical instruments I collect. The donations I collect are tax deductible as the agency has 501(c)(3) status with the Internal Revenue Service. Many families have had children who played in their school's band or/and orchestra but the children did not want to pursue music after graduating from high school (or elementary or middle school). As a result their instruments are just hanging around the house collecting dust. If these instruments are donated to this agency they will be put to good use again and make a child very, very happy. I am looking for donations of violins, cellos, flutes, clarinets, trumpets, trombones, saxophones, French horns, tubas, oboes, and all other kinds of musical instruments. My qualifications are as follows. I am a licensed School Counselor in North Carolina and a licensed attorney from Massachusetts. I have a Master in Education and a Juris Doctor. I also had this organization when I lived in Massachusetts and my Board and I gave the instruments to three school systems. I now live in North Carolina and have been here for twelve years.
