Chicago’s First Lady Cruises is seeking a Facilities Manager to oversee operations on the Chicago Riverwalk, winter maintenance facility and high-rise corporate office. The manager will be responsible for overseeing the security, organization and cleanliness of company facilities, with special focus on the seasonal Riverwalk operation. Candidates must possess excellent communication skills and problem solving, with a focus on creating a proactive and positive work environment. The manager will be charged with managing a staff of approximately 20 employees and will report to ownership. Responsibilities: Oversee day and night Riverwalkside staff, including security personnel. Assist with creation of job descriptions, reporting structures and schedules for subordinates. Conduct interviews for seasonal staff. Plan and facilitate periodic maintenance and upkeep. Perform walkthroughs (multiple times per week) to ensure Riverwalk maintenance, cleanliness and employee checks. Respond to requests regarding facilities issues. Identify improvement projects and track to completion. Ensure proper maintenance of Riverwalk facilities by coordinating with the Engineering Department. Maintain maintenance records. Consult with other directors, managers and staff about general operation. Liaise with IT, vendors, contractors, outside security teams, and City of Chicago personnel. Negotiate vendor supply contracts. Assist with large development projects. Maintain the safety and security of the facilities by knowing and executing emergency and security procedures and maintaining an on-site presence during emergencies. Oversee landscaping, waste management and pest control vendors and appointments. Assist in facilitating deliveries. Manage Riverwalk security system. Coordinate with property management for other business locations. Oversee cleaning supply stock and ordering. Oversee employee uniform stock and ordering, and assist with distribution. Assist with employee satisfaction initiatives. Requirements: Bachelor's degree. 3+ years experience in building or facility management. Strong communication, decision-making, leadership and problem-solving skills. Computer proficient and comfortable with Gmail and G Suite Apps. Ability to transit between offsite facilities located in suburban locations. Positive and proactive attitude. Managerial level customer service skills. Role requires standing, walking, crouching, bending, and/or reaching. Spanish not required but is a plus. Weekend availability during the operating season.
