FRAMINGHAM, MA — Framingham's coronavirus death toll edged toward 200 on Wednesday after city officials reported four new deaths since Monday — which come on top of 18 other deaths due to the virus recorded since Nov. 30.
Two days before the New Year, Framingham's pandemic death toll stood at 181. Health officials on Wednesday also reported 150 new cases, bringing the city to 5,021 cases since the pandemic began.
The new details about local cases come on the last day of service for the city's walk-up coronavirus testing site at the South Middlesex Opportunity Council building along Bishop Street. The city's Stop the Spread site along Franklin Street will remain open, but is closed for the rest of the week after Wednesday.
