Help Feed the Hungry! Volunteers Needed for Grocery Distribution

Greetings Neighbors! The Haight Ashbury Food Program has been providing food to the homeless and hungry since 1983. Every Saturday 30 volunteers help sort food, move boxes, and pack and distribute grocery bags. We operate out of a small parking lot, moving tons of food in a short period of time. Ideally, volunteers: ● Are physically able to perform the tasks related to the program ● Are able to lift at least 25 pounds comfortably ● Have followed Covid-related health and safety requirements ○ Masks and gloves are required while on premises ○ Volunteers must not attend the program if exposed to Covid within last 14 days, or have symptoms of illness We welcome volunteers every Saturday at 1525 Waller Street for one or both of two shifts: ○ First shift: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm (Set up; bagging groceries) ○ Second shift 11:30 am - 1:30 pm (Distributing groceries; clean up) Please visit our website for more info: https://www.thefoodprogram.org/
