Each week at Sunshine Dreams Art Center for the entire summer we have hosted Summer Art Camp. Every week is a different theme and the last two days of Nature camp have arrived. Tomorrow morning we will learn about how the weather effects the sky's color while painting a gorgeous sunset and pine tree silhouettes. The kids ages 7 and up will learn about various paints, painting techniques, color mixing and identifying all while having fun with their peers in an upbeat but thorough art class taught by an award-winning artist. Thursday afternoon's class we will be learning about peacocks and painting this gorgeous creature on canvas board and the final day of nature week will start off painting and learning about the Toucan and the afternoon another sunset painting although this one will have palms. Kids camp goes strong and ends August 5. Next week is FAMOUS ARTISTS week where we will learn about various artists and reproduce their works of art while discussing them and what makes them tick. July 25-29th we will be doing ART FROM AROUND THE WORLD (this one is my favorite). We will learn about Australian dot art, doing Mesopotamian tiles, Henna from India and African Masks. The last week of Summer art camp will take place August 1-5th and it is our FUNKY FUN week. We are going to paint our shoes, decorate our backpacks, paint some jeans and so much more. The hours of the morning classes are from 9-noon and the afternoon classes are from 1-4pm. The cost is $39 for a half day and $70 for a full day or $300 for the entire week. We provide all of the art supplies, thorough on-hand instruction from a award-winning artist and refreshments and a game to break up the day. Lunch is provided for $4.50 if the kids would like that.
