Sustainable Building Week networking is too much fun to keep it once a year. We’ll supply the drinks, light snacks, and a few topics of discussion. Bring your vaccinated self and be reminded of how much inspiration and business occurs when we talk face to face.
On July 12th, we will welcome Mark Lyles from the New Buildings Institute (NBI) who will introduce the Innovative financing approaches that are emerging to manage costs and deliver value for owners and tenants. This presentation will feature a new financing model that delivers reductions in cost of capital for projects that pursue high efficiency, low-carbon design and construction. In addition to emissions reductions, this new specification presents a rated and public investment grade opportunity to ESG investors. The Low Carbon Financing Specification, developed by NBI in collaboration with PACE Equity, outlines prescriptive and performance pathways in line with goals to achieve a carbon neutral building stock by 2050 and is influencing real estate developers toward higher performance buildings.
All sustainability friends are invited whether you’re in design, construction, academia, government, business, manufacturing, or something else. All are welcome because it will take all of us to avoid the worst impacts of climate change.
Masks are encouraged but not required in the well-ventilated, often open air “decony” where people will be enjoying alcohol. COVID vaccination is required.
