Five years ago I posted a message looking for someone to jam with and I got a few responses back, but they didn't work out. Then I got a call from a drummer who asked me to jam. I was hesitant at first, but it ended up being one of the greatest musical experiences I have had. This drummer helped me become a better musician and person in general. He never judged me and I didn't judge him, we just enjoyed making music together. Unfortunately two years ago he was diagnosed with a terminal illness and he recently passed away. I miss him greatly and I wish we had more time together to explore music further, but at least I had the opportunity to be his friend. We should all value every moment we have to play an instrument and sharing this love with others. Tell your bandmates how much you appreciate them and remember to smile when you are playing! :-)
