Experienced childcare worker/education student available to babysit

Hello! my name is Liz. I am looking for babysitting work and have plenty of time available. I will be a bit more busy in mid September when my classes start but could potentially work some then as well. I have just moved to Bellingham from Santa Barbara CA to start as a transfer student at Western in the fall. My major is education and special education. In the community college in Santa Barbara I mostly focused on early childhood, I took about 20 units of classes in that department. I also worked half time for a year as a substitute teacher's aid in the preschool section (1.5-6 years) of a Montessori school, and did a 100 hour Montessori training on working with the 3-6 age group. This last year I worked half time in a elementary afterschool program to get experience with older kids. One thing I haven't done yet is home care. I have only worked in schools/centers as it seemed the better place to learn childcare skills. Now I want to take a break from the busy atmosphere of working in schools before I immerse myself in it as a career. I would love to get experience working with children with special needs. I am open to working with all ages but especially enjoy lower elementary and preschool ages. I would be happy to set up something regularly or just cover the occasional date night. I would honestly prefer to talk on the phone or meet for coffee first and I can provide references and transcripts upon request.
