Last update: 11 July 2022 PROFESSIONAL AWARDSNominations for 2022 NSBPA Professional Awards will open June 27, 2022 and close September 15, 2022. Winners will be announced at the 2022 NSBPA Fall Conference. The Bernard J. “Bernie” Moore Outstanding Service Award is given in recognition of a member of the Northeast Shore & Beach Preservation Association who, over his or her career, has made significant contributions to coastal communities in the region. Contributions include furthering the community’s understanding of coastal science or engineering, implementation of projects that benefit coastal communities, and fostering coastal protection, resilience and coastal ecology. The J. Richard “Rich” Weggel Coastal Academic Award is given in recognition of an academic in the Northeast Shore & Beach Association who has made significant contributions furthering the community’s understanding of coastal science or engineering and in fostering young coastal scientists or engineers.
