A teenager is killed in a traffic collision every four hours nationwide. These deaths and injuries can be substantially reduced or prevented by eliminating high-risk driving behaviors through education. The California Highway Patrol's (CHP) "Start Smart" program can help prevent these tragedies.
The class is free and a parent is encouraged to attend. Topics discussed will be distracted driving, DUI, safe driving habits, defensive driving techniques, avoiding peer pressure, and much more in that two hour period. Teens receive a certificate for attending the class, which may help reduce the cost of auto insurance.
One ticker per person is required when registering (for limited seating purposes). Contact Officer Mike Lassig from CHP, Temecula Area at MLassig@chp,ca,gov or (951) 506-2000.
