The Schaumburg Township Historical Society presents a docent-led bus tour of five historic barns that still exist today—with revitalized purpose! Hear fascinating facts about famous people and farm life 100 years ago—as you visit the Volkening Heritage Barn, Turret House & Barn, the Mennonite Church Barn, the Civic Barn, and the Vogelei Barn. Compelling, news-worthy history of local “ghost barns” will also be offered. Tours start at the Schaumburg Township Town Hall at 1 Illinois Boulevard in Hoffman Estates from 9:30 am, doors open at 9:00 a.m., returning at 1:00 pm. Cost is $20: All proceeds will be donated to the Civic Barn Senior Center, Boys and Girls Club, and the Schaumburg Township Food Pantry. This event is intended for adults 18 years and older. Space is limited. The bus tour is co-sponsored with Schaumburg Township and the Schaumburg Township District Library. For additional information, call 847-340-0112.
