The Hungry Ear celebrates the art of the short story with dramatic readings. The July 25th program presents two stories with different passions. First we have 'The Wish For A Good Young Country Doctor' by Allan Gurganus, read by Charles Berman. Our hero's passion is collecting odd things and studying odd people! Barbara Vartanian will tell us about a woman whose passion is umbrellas in 'The Umbrella' by Danish writer Tove Ditlevsen. This event takes place in the Decker Room at the Broome County Public Library on Monday, July 25th, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. We call it 'A cocktail hour for the mind'!
