We are seeking experienced Welder Helpers for upcoming projects located in California. PCL offers competitive wages, 401k, Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, and paid Holidays to its employees. PCL's wages for Welder Helpers start at $16 per hour. Responsibilities: Must maintain consistent and punctual attendance. Moves work pieces, tools, and supplies manually by hand and/or truck. Assists welder with welding, brazing, thermal, and arc cutting activities. Lifts, moves, holds, or clamps work pieces to a table; into jigs, or into position as directed, manually or by using; hoist, pry bars, wrenches, hammer, and wedges. Cleans work pieces to remove impurities such as; slag, rust, and grease using wire brushes and portable grinders. Firewatch, which consist of ensuring work area is free of potential fire hazards. Reports to immediate Supervisor and Foreman while coordinating with other trades for the purpose of completing projects/work orders efficiently. Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment. Must maintain clean and safe working environment by complying with PCL procedures, rules, and regulations. Qualifications: Minimum 6 months Welder Helper experience (preferably oilfield) Must pass the PCL Welder Helper assessments Work Conditions: The position of Welder Helper requires working outdoors while exposed to various types of weather conditions such as cold, extreme heat, wind and rain. Work is performed on various terrains including uneven hard dirt and rocky surfaces in various conditions such as wet, slippery, muddy. May be exposed to dust, gas, fumes and chemicals. This position also requires working in areas that are under construction while working around equipment and machinery. The Helper must be able to access work areas which are at varying heights and accessible by ladders, stairs, and aerial work platforms. PCL is an Affirmative Action, Equal Opportunity Employer.
