WARREN, MI — A Warren man faces five felony charges after police said he was using a minor for commercial sex, Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel announced Tuesday. James Earl Madison-Cranford, 28, was charged with minor sex trafficking, prostitution in accepting earnings and transporting a female, conducting a criminal enterprise and third-degree criminal sexual conduct, which carries a 15-year felony. The other charges each carry a 20-year felony. Cranford was given a cash bond of $900,000 cash. His next court appearance is scheduled for July 20 at 1 p.m. Officials said they began investigating in 2017 when they responded to an advertisement Cranford posted online after learning Cranford was trafficking the minor. The agents were able to rescue the minor through the operation, the news release said. The minor told officials that Cranford had her regularly performing commercial sex for several months through posting advertisements online. He also used his phone to post the advertisements and answer all her calls. "Let this case be a reminder that regardless how many years have passed, our team will always fight for survivors of abuse," Nessel said. "We remain committed to securing justice."
